Grande Prairie scholarships

Northwestern Polytechnic lists 359 awards, but its standard criteria shut almost all of them until you have two semesters behind you, so these are the ones you can win from grade 12.

Open now: Taking applications now. The date is the deadline.
Open any time: Taking applications, with no deadline to count down to.
Opens later: This year’s application has not opened. Save it, or set a reminder on its page.
Opens later, date not posted: The sponsor has not posted this year’s date. “Around” means last year’s date, so check before you plan on it.
Closed: This year’s deadline has passed.
Bursary: An award given mainly on financial need rather than marks. You usually show your family’s income, not your grades.
Designated trade: A trade Alberta certifies through an apprenticeship, like electrician, welder or carpenter.
RAP: The Registered Apprenticeship Program: you start a paid trade apprenticeship while still in high school, earning school credits and apprenticeship hours at once.

Most of these open later, most of them in April. That is the normal cycle. Save the ones you want now, and each award's page can email you before it closes.
