Northwestern Alberta Foundation Student Awards
One application to the Northwestern Alberta Foundation is considered for over forty student award funds covering sports, nursing, environmental studies, emergency services, trades, agriculture, fine arts, animal health, education, business, technology, music, tourism and hospitality. Recipients come from Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Level and other communities across the region, and awards follow students to institutions inside and outside Alberta. Decisions are sent in mid-September.
This is the single most useful application in the Peace Country and almost nobody outside Grande Prairie has heard of it. The foundation holds more than forty separate award funds, and one universal form puts you in front of every fund you qualify for, so the work of applying once is spread across dozens of chances. In 2025 it paid out over $60,000 across 100 awards. The window ran from April 16 to August 9 in 2026, so this is that deadline rolled forward a year and the foundation had not posted the new dates when this was checked.
