Free to use,
worth double-checking.
ScholarAB is a free directory of Alberta scholarships and research programs, built and maintained by one high school student. There is no account to create and nothing to pay. These terms exist to be honest about what that means — mostly, that a deadline listed here is a copy of someone else's deadline, and the provider's own page always wins.

Always confirm with the provider
Every listing is checked by hand against the provider's page, and the month it was last checked is printed on it. Even so: deadlines move, awards get discontinued, eligibility rules change quietly, and a listing can be wrong or out of date between one check and the next.
Before you apply, open the provider's own page and confirm the deadline, the amount, and whether you're eligible. Every listing links to it. Treat what you read here as a starting point for finding awards, never as the authoritative version of one.
No affiliation
ScholarAB is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the scholarship providers, universities, foundations, school divisions, or government programs it lists. We don't administer any award, don't receive or forward applications, don't sit on any selection committee, and have no say in who wins anything. Names and trademarks belonging to those organizations are used only to identify what a listing refers to.
The match quiz is a filter, not a ruling
The match tool narrows the directory using the eligibility rules recorded for each listing. It can be wrong in both directions — hiding something you'd have qualified for, or showing something you wouldn't. Your answers never leave your browser, which also means we can't check them for you. If an award looks close, apply anyway and let the provider decide.
What we can't promise
ScholarAB is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. We can't promise the site will be available, that the information on it is complete, current, or accurate, or that using it will get you a scholarship. To the fullest extent the law allows, ScholarAB and its maintainer aren't liable for any loss that comes from using the site — including a missed deadline, a deadline listed wrong, an award that turns out not to exist, or a rejected application.
This isn't an attempt to dodge responsibility for the work: mistakes get fixed quickly, and telling us about one is genuinely welcome. It is an acknowledgement that a free directory maintained by one person cannot carry the risk of your application, and that the provider's page is the record that counts.
Using the site
- Browse, search, save, share, print, and hand the whole thing to your students — that's what it's for.
- Don't sign anyone else up for deadline reminders. Every sign-up is confirmed by email for exactly this reason.
- Don't hammer the site with automated requests, or try to break, overload, or get into parts of it that aren't public.
- Don't republish the listings as your own — see the licenses below for what reuse is allowed.
Reusing the code and the data
The site's source code is licensed under the GNU AGPL-3.0. The scholarship and program database is licensed separately under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 — you may reuse it, including commercially, if you credit ScholarAB with a link and release your version under the same terms. Individual facts, like a deadline or a dollar amount, belong to nobody; what's licensed is the written descriptions and the selection and arrangement of the database. The name ScholarAB and the logo are not covered by either license.

Privacy
What the site collects, why, how long it's kept, and how to delete it are all set out on the privacy policy. The short version: you can use the entire site without giving us anything, and the only personal information we ever hold is an email address you asked us to remind you at.
Changes, and which law applies
These terms can change; the date at the top moves when they do, and every version is in the site's public source history. They're governed by the laws of Alberta and of Canada.
If you run one of these programs
If you administer an award or program listed here and something about the listing is wrong, out of date, or you'd rather not be listed at all, email [email protected] and say so. A correction gets made as soon as it's read, and a request to be removed is honoured without argument — no explanation needed, and nothing has to be escalated to get it done. The same goes for anything you believe infringes your copyright: tell us what and where, and it comes down while we sort it out.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. When they do, the date at the top of this page moves, and every earlier version stays in the site's public source history so you can see what changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means the new version applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it, and the courts of Alberta are where any dispute about them belongs. Nothing here takes away consumer rights that Alberta or Canadian law gives you and does not let you sign away. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest stays in force.
