Worth knowing
You need a physical disability that requires a mobility aid such as a wheelchair, walker or power scooter, and you must be accepted to or enrolled in an Alberta post-secondary diploma or degree program taking at least two courses a term. Fill in the online form, then email a character reference, an academic reference from a teacher, a one-page personal letter about your school experience and goals, a certified transcript and a note from your healthcare provider confirming the diagnosis to Scholarships@easterseals.ab.ca. Applications open March 1 and close June 30 at midnight. To keep the money for all four years you send a new letter, a current transcript and proof of enrolment each year.
About this scholarship
Easter Seals Alberta pays $5,000 a year for up to four years to an Alberta student with a physical disability who uses a mobility aid and is heading to college or university in Alberta.
