Rogers Broadcasting Rock 97.7 Music Award

Two awards of $600 from Rogers Broadcasting for first-year music students carrying the maximum credits for first year with a GPA of at least 3.0, who intend to continue full time the following year. Selection weighs academics together with education and career goals in music or the entertainment industry.

The full-load requirement is the trap: a music student who drops a course to protect their average disqualifies themselves. The entertainment industry counts alongside performance as a career goal. Northwestern Polytechnic's standard award criteria require two full semesters already completed at NWP, which shuts most of its 359 awards to a student coming straight out of grade 12.
