Chief Ronald W. Clarke Fund Student Award
A student award for a resident of the County of Grande Prairie registered in an emergency services program, including firefighting, emergency medical services, paramedic training, nursing, physician services and enforcement services. Applicants are asked to show commitment or roots in the Peace Country. Applications are made through the Northwestern Alberta Foundation.
The Wembley Fire Department started this in 2012 for a volunteer firefighter with 46 years of service, and the eligible programs are broader than the name suggests: nursing and physician studies count alongside firefighting and paramedicine. The fund is an endowment, so the amount depends on what it earned that year and the foundation does not publish a fixed figure. Applications run through the foundation's universal form and its August deadline, shown here rolled forward.
