Alberta Blue Cross Entrance Award (Northwestern Polytechnic)

One award of $1,000 for an Alberta resident entering post-secondary study immediately after high school with an 80 per cent average in grade 12, carrying a full course load and holding satisfactory standing through the fall semester.

There is a ceiling most students miss: you are ineligible if you are already receiving more than $3,500 in other awards. Winning big elsewhere can cost you this one. Northwestern Polytechnic's standard award criteria require two full semesters already completed at NWP, which shuts most of its 359 awards to a student coming straight out of grade 12. Entrance awards are the exception and this is one of them. Applications sit in your NWP account document library once you are admitted.
