🏅 Bob Neufeld Scholarship

Up to four scholarships of $1,200 a year from the City of Grande Prairie for individuals pursuing excellence in their sport. Individual athletes, volunteer coaches and sport officials may all apply, and the application asks for a goal statement with performance history, letters of support from a coach or mentor, and confirmation of national sport association membership.

Four awards, and this is one of the few sport scholarships anywhere that treats volunteer coaches and officials as equals with athletes, so a Grade 12 student who referees or coaches a younger division can apply on that alone. Clubs are limited to one applicant per deadline, so ask early rather than assuming your club has a spot. As with the other City award, you have to apply before the event happens.
