ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
Six Elk Island students are selected for this $500 award, which recognises students who have overcome some level of adversity to graduate and continue learning in any capacity. The last three words matter: the criteria cover students working toward an Alberta High School Certificate of Achievement as well as a Diploma, so it reaches students most graduation awards are closed to. It needs both a written student submission and a letter of support from the school.
