SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL DEADLINE TBA

Kevin Gaetz Scholarship

FORT SASKATCHEWAN
WHO CAN APPLY
Elk Island students whose finances would restrict post-secondary

Paid from the Edmonton Community Foundation, with up to two students at each Elk Island high school receiving an amount to support post-secondary study. The award goes to a student who meets the entrance requirements for the programme to be supported and has financial need that would restrict their ability to pursue it, together with perseverance and commitment to post-secondary education, described in the criteria as the desire and determination to keep learning in an area of interest.

You cannot apply for this one; each Elk Island school nominates up to two students, so the useful move is telling a counsellor you want to be considered. Black Gold School Division runs a separate award from the same Edmonton Community Foundation fund with its own application and a June 30 date, so a student who moves between the divisions is looking at two different routes.

1 Talk to your school guidance counsellor about this award.
2 Ask about internal school deadlines, which can be earlier than the listed one.
3 Submit your application through your school.
