Worth knowing
Wider than it first looks, because you do not need to have cystic fibrosis yourself. Siblings, children, spouses and caregivers of a person diagnosed with CF are all eligible. Anticipating enrolment as a first-year student in the fall counts, so graduating Grade 12 students qualify. You must be a legal resident of Canada or the US and not on academic probation. Using a Vertex drug is not a factor. The award is paid in Canadian dollars for Canadian residents. The 2026 window ran January 13 to February 24 at 3:00 p.m. CT, with recommendations due February 27 and funds disbursed in August, so this is another early-in-Grade-12 deadline. Administered by Scholarship America. Applicants must be United States or Canadian citizens, or lawfully admitted permanent residents of either country. You must study at an accredited college, university or CEGEP equivalent in Canada or the US.
