Horatio Alger Vocational and Technical Education Scholarships

Twenty-five awards of $3,000 for students across Canada starting hands-on vocational, technical or trades training, aimed at people facing real financial need.

A separate application from the Horatio Alger undergraduate scholarships, on a later calendar, and it does NOT have the Grade 11 gate: you need to have finished high school or an equivalency by July 1 of the year you start. Twenty-five awards of $3,000, open in every province and territory, for hands-on vocational, technical or trades training at a public or not-for-profit institution. Household net income must be $80,000 or less and you must be under 35. Two related Horatio Alger trades awards, the Seaspan VTE and the Skills and Trades Scholarship, are British Columbia only and Alberta students cannot apply, whatever a scholarship aggregator tells you.
