Worth knowing

A separate application from the Horatio Alger undergraduate scholarships, on a later calendar, and it does not have the Grade 11 rule. You need to have finished high school or an equivalency by July 1 of the year you start. Twenty-five awards of $3,000, open in every province and territory, for hands-on vocational, technical or trades training at a public or not-for-profit institution. Household net income must be $80,000 or less and you must be under 35. Two related Horatio Alger trades awards, the Seaspan VTE and the Skills and Trades Scholarship, are British Columbia only and Alberta students cannot apply, whatever a scholarship aggregator tells you. The 2026 round closed June 15, 2026, and the page says to come back for 2027 details. Applicants must live in Canada. The $80,000 household income limit is annual net income. Registered apprenticeship not mandatory. You must study at a public or not-for-profit institution.
