Worth knowing
Write up to 500 words on the trade you are pursuing and how you are getting ready for work. You must be 18 when you apply, so a Grade 12 student who is still 17 has to wait for their birthday. The money can go to tuition, tools, safety tickets or certifications. The cutoff is 7 p.m. Mountain time, and the winner is named about 30 days later.
About this scholarship
An Alberta trades job board pays one $1,000 award a year to someone heading into a skilled trade, apprenticeship, technical program or industry certification. The first winner, in 2026, was training as a heavy equipment operator.
