Worth knowing

Complete the separate online National Indigenous Scholarship application, essay and Indigenous identity verification, and arrange a reference from a school or community contact. A school nomination is not required. Applicants must meet their program's admission average; eligible faculties are Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Music, Health Sciences, Information and Media Studies, Social Science and Science. The estimated deadline is February 14, 2027. The 2027 date is not published yet; this is last year's date moved forward one year.

This $50,000 scholarship supports First Nations, Métis and Inuit students entering full-time undergraduate study at Western's main campus. Selection considers academic achievement, creative thinking and past or planned contributions to Indigenous communities.
