Worth knowing

Your school nominates you, you cannot apply directly. Every Canadian high school can put forward one graduating student, two if the school had a Schulich Leader in 2026. Nomination deadline is January 27, 2027 and nominated students then have until February 17, 2027 to submit the application and reference letters. Talk to your counsellor in the fall, not in January.

About this scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarships recognize exceptional Canadian high school students pursuing STEM at one of 20 select Canadian universities. One hundred are awarded each year: fifty at $120,000 for engineering and fifty at $100,000 for science, technology and math.

2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
