Support Our Troops National Scholarship Program
At least 75 scholarships a year, from $500 to $5,000, for the spouses and dependants of serving Canadian Armed Forces members going to a Canadian college or university.
The largest military-family award program in the country by volume: a minimum of 75 scholarships, and in 2024 it paid out $287,500 across 104 of them. The binding requirement is that the CAF member must be STILL SERVING. You have to submit a current Member's Personnel Record Resume showing that, so families of retired or former members do not qualify here, whatever a general 'military families' list suggests. Spouses and dependants both count. You also need proof of enrolment, a transcript, a reference letter, a list of volunteer work, and a three-part essay of 450 words total on military family life, career goals and the obstacles you face. Graduating Grade 12 students can apply: the 2026 window ran May 1 to July 16, well after acceptance letters land, and the proof of enrolment is allowed to show a future program start date. Recipients are notified by email at the end of September. Questions go to scholarships@cfmws.com. Verified against supportourtroops.ca on 2026-09-08.
