Pat Zukowski Trades Scholarship

Five scholarships of $1,000 each go every year to Grasslands Public Schools Grade 12 students who are enrolled in, or can prove enrolment in, a certified trades program in Canada. Preference goes to students engaged in dual credit trades programming or CTS trades programming. Pat Zukowski was a Grasslands graduate, a welder, and for four decades a co-owner of an oilfield construction company; he was worried about the shrinking number of tradespeople locally, and five awards a year is a deliberately wide net.

The handbook publishes no closing date for this award. Applications go through your Grasslands school rather than to the sponsor, and the form is a Google Doc only Grasslands students can open, so ask your school office in the fall for the date it is collecting by.
