Open Door Bursary

A Burns Memorial Fund bursary for Calgary youth who do not meet the criteria of any other bursary, aimed at getting them into education, training or work.

It pays for the things other awards will not touch: application fees, upgrading courses to qualify for a program, supplies, short training tickets such as security or food handling, and even work boots for a first job. Anyone already attending post-secondary is excluded, which is what makes it useful in the gap year.
