Emmy Duff Scholarship

A one-time $2,000 award for Canadian students who have been treated for cancer, or are in treatment, and who keep up an ongoing volunteer commitment.

Open to students in any year of study, including first year, so a graduating Grade 12 student heading to a Canadian college or university in the fall can apply. You must live in Canada and be attending a Canadian institution. Two requirements make this different from a standard bursary. You need a letter from your oncologist or current physician confirming that you were treated, or are being treated, for a cancer diagnosis. And you need a demonstrated, ongoing volunteer commitment to causes you care about, which the Foundation weighs rather than treating as a nice-to-have. The written piece is a 300 to 500 word letter on your experience, your goals and why you are applying. A letter of acceptance is requested from finalists only, not up front.
