Worth knowing
A hundred awards a year, with no year-of-study restriction. Leadership in the area of disability is named first in the criteria. You apply to your own institution's student awards office, with a resume and an essay of up to 1,000 words, and each school sets its own date. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons. Applicants qualify as Alberta residents through a parent or guardian who lived permanently in Canada for at least 12 consecutive months immediately before their studies and now lives in Alberta, through their own last 12 consecutive months of residence immediately before study being in Alberta, or through a spouse or partner’s 12 consecutive months of Alberta residence before their studies. Applicants must meet their institution’s definition of satisfactory academic standing. You must study at an eligible publicly funded Alberta institution.
