ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
Named for the Alberta disability advocate, this provincial scholarship rewards leadership and initiative that improved the lives of other people rather than academic standing.
A hundred awards a year and no year-of-study restriction, which makes it one of the better odds on the provincial list for a first-year student. Leadership in the area of disability is named first in the criteria. You apply to your own institution’s student awards office, with a resume and an essay of up to 1,000 words, and each school sets its own date.

2 Ask about internal school deadlines, which can be earlier than the listed one.
3 Submit your application through your school.
