SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL OPENING SOON

Canadian Hearing Services National Scholarship

NATIONAL
WHO CAN APPLY
Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing Canadians aged 17 or older starting or returning to post-secondary study

Pays $3,000 to full-time and $1,000 to part-time students, and stays available at the same level for up to four consecutive years. Selection weighs financial and accommodation need alongside community engagement, and Canadian Hearing Services gives additional recognition to Indigenous Deaf and hard of hearing applicants.

The medical bar is specific: a documented hearing loss of 50dB or greater in each ear, not just one. Like the Rutherford, this is applied for once you are enrolled rather than while you are still in Grade 12, so a graduating student applies in the year they start post-secondary. The 2027 cycle had not been posted when this was checked; the 2026 round notified winners in July.
