Worth knowing

Applications are taken all year, not on one closing date. You need proof of enrolment in a provincially recognised apprenticeship program and two reference letters, and you must pass the classroom portion before the money is released against an official transcript. There is no age limit, you can only receive it once, and you have to declare that you are not drawing wages or a subsidy from an employer while you are at school. Residency works the same as the county post-secondary bursary. Applicants must live in Woodlands County, or they or their parents must own property in the county and the applicant must have lived there within the past five years.
