Vivian Koval Memorial Scholarship
One award of $1,000 for a student who balances work and school, is moving toward financial self-sufficiency through budgeting and saving, shows resilience and mentors or volunteers in the school or community. Financial hardship is prioritised.
Almost nothing else in this directory rewards having a part-time job. The four published criteria are work-school balance, independence, leadership and financial need, and the first of them is the one most students never think to write about. Bev Facey runs one online form for every in-house award: you tick the ones you qualify for and attach a written or video submission saying why. A staff committee decides. The 2026 form closed April 7 and opened on March 16, so watch for it in mid-March.
