Sherwood Park Rotary Club Scholarship

Scholarships of $1,000 awarded annually by the Rotary Club of Sherwood Park, one to a student from each Sherwood Park high school. They go to students who have shown significant academic improvement during high school and who have contributed to school or community in line with the Rotary motto, service before self.

Improvement rather than achievement is the criterion, so a student who climbed from the fifties to the seventies is a stronger candidate than one who sat at ninety throughout. Each school nominates, and recipients attend a Rotary meeting with a staff member. Ardrossan lists five awards across the town; Bev Facey lists six.
