Twice But Nice Scholarship
A thrift store funds the two largest awards in Fort Saskatchewan: $5,000 each, with the Anne Springman Scholarship for a student going to college or university and the Lesley Macmillan Scholarship for one going to a technical institute, trade school or apprenticeship. If nobody applies on one side they may award both on the other. Financial need carries 30 of the 100 selection points, work experience 20, personal challenges 15, and marks only 10, and the criteria say plainly that grades matter only insofar as they got you accepted. Eligibility reaches homeschooled students, Fort Saskatchewan Outreach, Strathcona Christian Academy and students in designated programmes outside the city, and you may apply in your graduating year or within one year of it.
The store publishes a dated cutoff each year; the 2026 round closed June 14, and the date shown here assumes the same day repeats, so confirm it on their site. Applications must be one combined PDF emailed in, with letters of reference on letterhead, a conditional acceptance letter and a transcript. Recipients attend the March annual general meeting to report back, and anyone who withdraws within 30 days of a term start has to repay.
