Worth knowing

Send the signed application to the Town of Whitecourt Economic Development Officer by email at ecdev@whitecourt.ca or by mail to Box 509, Whitecourt. Include proof of a Whitecourt address, proof of acceptance with tuition amounts and payment dates, a financial plan showing need, and proof of the other scholarships, grants or employer funding you applied for and what came of them. The town pays only the gap left after other funding, and it sends the money straight to the school once you are enrolled. Programs tied to high demand local work such as healthcare, skilled trades, truck driving, technology and social services get priority, and you must stay in Whitecourt or plan to return to work there. The 2026 intake is closed, so watch the town's grant programs page for the next one.

About this scholarship

The Town of Whitecourt sets aside $10,000 a year to cover up to $5,000 of tuition for residents who study for in-demand local careers.
