Who can apply

First and second year Alberta post-secondary students who volunteer with German cultural groups

About this scholarship

Up to two $2,500 scholarships a year for Alberta residents who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, entering the first or second year of full-time studies at a public university, college or technical institute in Alberta, with at least 25 hours of volunteering for a German organization or event and a history of volunteer work. Academic excellence is the main consideration; you need a non-family reference, transcripts and proof of enrolment.

Worth knowing

The 2026 deadline was March 31, 2026; the 2027 date here is rolled forward. Apply by mail, email or hand delivery to the GCAA at the German Cultural Club, and include signed, dated time sheets for your volunteer hours.
