Worth knowing

Send the bursary application form, a 500 to 750 word essay on your work with children and why you would make an excellent Peace Wapiti teacher, a current resume and references. Graduating Peace Wapiti students also include a recommendation letter from a school administrator. You may be asked to a pre-screening interview, and you email proof of acceptance once you are admitted to a full-time four-year Bachelor of Education at an accredited Alberta university. Recipients sign a two-year return of service agreement and must accept an open division position. Up to five bursaries are given each year, with preference for rural applicants.

Peace Wapiti Public School Division pays up to $3,000 a year toward education degree costs for local graduates and residents who agree to teach in the division.
