LCHS Alumni Foundation Award for Valedictorian
A plaque at graduation and $250 in cash the following fall, once the student has started post-secondary. The ranking is not a plain average: it counts English Language Arts 30-1 plus four of Social 30-1, Math 30-1, Math 31, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, Science 30, Études Sociales 30, French Language Arts 30-1 or a second language at the 30 level, taken in grade 11 or 12.
The LCHS awards program is for that year's graduates, and where no current graduate applies the school may consider graduates of earlier years. Grade 10 and 11 applicants need 35 credits earned at LCHS; grade 12 applicants need 20. The school also says payment is at the sponsor's discretion. The valedictorian must take the entire grade 12 year at LCHS with at least 25 credits and no courses through another school, and the calculation uses first semester finals and second semester midterms.
