ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP

Sixty awards of $1,000, issued as a voucher against tuition or eligible costs such as books, for students who represent the Wood Buffalo region through extracurricular activity, volunteer work, military service or community initiatives. Sixty recipients makes it the widest award anywhere in this directory.

It is a voucher rather than a cheque, so it pays tuition and books rather than rent. Military service counts alongside volunteering, which is unusual. With sixty awards on offer the odds here are better than on almost anything else a Fort McMurray student can apply for.
