SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL 300 DAYS LEFT

Kevin Gaetz Award

LEDUC
WHO CAN APPLY
Black Gold graduates whose finances would otherwise block post-secondary

Three recipients a year at $6,000 each, held in perpetuity through the Edmonton Community Foundation and paid in two halves: $3,000 when granted and $3,000 on confirmation of a completed first semester and continued enrolment. The qualifying condition is financial need that would restrict your ability to pursue post-secondary education at all. The application is a form, a letter of introduction addressing the criteria, a reference letter from an authority figure outside your immediate family, a current transcript, and a preliminary acceptance letter. At $6,000 this is the largest locally funded award in the Leduc area by a wide margin.

Black Gold's own division-managed scholarship summary is where the criteria and the date come from, and the date it gives is a bare day with no year, so it repeats. The summary was last updated in April 2025, so confirm the amount with the division before counting on it.
