IPPC Indigenous Pharmacy Scholarship

Pharmacy awards for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students worth $10,000 for pharmacy technician studies and $20,000 a year for PharmD, open on acceptance.

Run by the Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada with the Canadian Pharmacists Association. The route worth knowing about from grade 12 is the pharmacy technician stream, funded by the Sobeys National Pharmacy Group at $10,000, because a pharmacy technician diploma is a college program you can enter straight out of high school. The two PharmD scholarships are worth $20,000 a year and matter later, since PharmD programs in Canada generally want undergraduate study first. Being accepted counts, not just being enrolled, so you can apply on an acceptance letter. You must provide verification of ancestry such as a status card, a parent's status card with proof of relationship, or a Métis citizenship card, and you must be a member of IPPC. The application needs a letter of intent of up to 500 words or a three-minute video, plus a reference letter from someone outside your household. Recipients meet annually with IPPC and the sponsor. The 2026 to 2027 cycle has closed.
