Harry Lomnes and Family Memorial Scholarship
The largest award on the Wetaskiwin Composite list. In 2025 three students received $5,000 each. Priority goes to a student entering a music programme or taking music as a minor; a student pursuing mathematics comes second; a student attending the University of Alberta in science or engineering comes third. Top academic standing, excellence and financial need are all weighed.
The three tiers are ranked, not alternatives, so a music student outranks a mathematics student who outranks a University of Alberta science student. If you fit more than one tier, say so. One Google Form covers every in-house award at Wetaskiwin Composite. You tick the awards you want to be considered for, write one paragraph on why, and that paragraph is judged against all of them at once. The 2026 form closed June 6 and winners were told by email or text in September, so watch the school's post-secondary page for the next one in the spring.
