Worth knowing
There is no application. The scholarship committee selects the winner with the academic teachers. Alongside the marks the criteria ask for contribution to the welfare of others, a healthy lifestyle shown through sport or leadership, and a record of positive relationships with peers and adults, so a reference from a teacher carries real weight here. Unless an award states otherwise, applicants must be Canadian citizens and have lived in Alberta for at least one year. An average of at least 85% is required in two of Biology 30, Chemistry 30 and Physics 30, rather than across all courses. Selection considers positive contributions to the school or community, a healthy lifestyle through sport and leadership, and positive relationships.
