Worth knowing

Prairie Rose Public Schools publishes the terms and the recipients each June but does not publish an application deadline, so none is shown here, not a guessed one. Ask Eagle Butte High School or Prairie Rose for the form early in the spring. The 2026 committee read eleven applications for three awards.

About this scholarship

The third Redcliff award, created in December 2020 by the family of David Jon Thomson, a Redcliff businessman and lifelong supporter of higher education. Worth up to $6,000, paid straight to your post-secondary institution in two $3,000 instalments in mid-August and mid-December. Selection weighs financial need, leadership and citizenship, and academic merit, with preference to first year students who lived in Redcliff for most of their school years.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
