Constance Gowers Memorial Bursary

A $500 bursary from the Ladies Auxiliary of the Alberta-N.W.T. Command of the Royal Canadian Legion, for a student entering the first term of a certificate, diploma or degree. It is aimed at the child, grandchild, great-grandchild, niece or nephew of a veteran, at descendants of serving RCMP members, and at reservists and firefighters, paid or volunteer, with a year of service.

The family connection reaches further than most veteran awards, as far as great-grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. The catch is age: the auxiliary states this is not intended for mature students over twenty. It is a separate award from the auxiliary's main command bursaries, so you can be considered for both.
