Worth knowing
The scoring is published in full, with one point for an Alberta programme, two for involvement with 4-H or riding clubs or personal riding experience, one for a 70 per cent average. Riding experience is worth twice what your marks are. The third tier opens it to any student in any Alberta programme, horse or no horse. A short essay and proof of acceptance are required, and the winner writes back to the club after first term.
About this scholarship
One award of $500 from the Clearwater Horse Club for a grade 12 student eligible for a high school diploma. Equine studies come first, then animal science, veterinary and agriculture, and finally any Alberta post-secondary programme at all. Recipients are scored on a four point scale and ties are settled by drawing names.
