Worth knowing
This is training rather than tuition, and it ends with a certification that the YMCA itself hires for, so it is closer to a paid route into a job than to a scholarship. You must be 16 by the first of January, attend every course in the following year with full participation, and agree to have your photo used. Applications go through a Microsoft Forms link, not the school.
About this scholarship
The YMCA of Lethbridge pays the full cost of the lifeguarding ladder for two applicants each year, covering Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard, Pool and Waterpark certification, and Standard First Aid with CPR C. The package runs to roughly $1,800 a person.
