TIES Founder’s Scholarship

CALGARY
WHO CAN APPLY
Calgary students entering a field that serves newcomers to Canada

One award a year from The Immigrant Education Society, for a Calgary-area student training in non-profit management, social innovation, international relations, immigrant consultation or a related field.

Your program has to start within a year of applying, so a grade 12 student can apply on next year’s acceptance. The essay is the whole application: 750 to 1,000 words naming a specific barrier immigrants face and proposing something concrete to fix it. Recent winners have been university students with running non-profits, so a strong idea matters more here than a strong transcript.

1 Read the full requirements on the official website.
2 Prepare your documents and any references it asks for.
