Worth knowing

No money is attached. The province runs three Alberta Citizenship Awards from one nomination process, and this is the one that pays nothing: the Alberta Centennial Award carries $2,005 and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Citizenship Award carries $7,000, eight a year against 25 Centennial awards. Each high school may put forward one student, so the first competition is inside your own school. Academic achievement is explicitly not a criterion.

About this scholarship

The Premier writes to one graduating student per Alberta high school in recognition of citizenship, leadership and community service, and winning it makes you eligible for the two cash awards beside it.
