Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Citizenship Award

Eight young Albertans a year receive a $7,000 scholarship and a medallion for citizenship, leadership and community service, not for grades. You have to hold your school's Premier's Citizenship Award nomination first, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, be an Alberta resident, and be enrolled full time in a post-secondary program for the fall or winter term. The application wants a Record of Accomplishments chart covering your community work and two reference letters of no more than two pages each.

Your school nominates one graduating student for the Premier's Citizenship Award, and that nomination is what makes you eligible here, so the deadline that actually matters is your school's internal one. The 2027 intake opens March 1, 2027 and closes June 1, 2027 through the GATE Front Office system. The Alberta Centennial Award runs off the same nomination.
