About this scholarship
About seventy named scholarships run through one 4-H Alberta application, from $500 to $2,750 each, most of them for agriculture, veterinary, human ecology or agri-business programs and many limited to members from one county, district or region. Most ask for at least three years of 4-H membership and weigh community involvement and 4-H achievement.
Worth knowing
One online application puts you in the running for every provincial scholarship on the list, and you can win one of them per year. Regional, district and club scholarships are extra and can be won in the same year as a provincial one, but several want an essay or reference letters sent by mail, so read each one's criteria before May. The application opens March 1 and closes May 1 at noon.
