How the EducationMatters application works

One EducationMatters application covers every CBE and Calgary Catholic award. It opens March 1, and most awards close May 30, a few May 1. Every one has three rules: you must be 20 or younger on September 1, not yet in post-secondary, and applying in your Grade 12 year. Once you leave high school you can no longer apply, so a gap year is fine only if you applied before you graduated.

116 awards listed here go through it.

About this scholarship

Open to students registered in grade 12 at Forest Lawn High School, Jack James High School, James Fowler High School, Lester B. Pearson High School or Nelson Mandela High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have marks sufficient for entrance into their chosen program of post-secondary study. The post-secondary program must last at least two years.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.

Email me when it opens

We send one link to confirm, then an email when it opens and reminders before the deadline if one is posted.
We store your address only to send these reminders, and delete it the moment you unsubscribe.
What we keep

Nothing else is sent until you press the button in the confirmation email. If you never do, the address is deleted within 30 days. Otherwise it goes 60 days after the deadline or the moment you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. We never sell or trade it. The full privacy policy.
