Modern Métis Woman Scholarship

A yearly essay award for self-identified Métis women heading to or already at a Canadian or US university, decided on a 1,000 to 1,500 word essay.

A small charity award decided on a single essay of 1,000 to 1,500 words, on your definition of the Modern Métis Woman, how your Métis heritage has affected you personally, or any topic you choose that relates to Métis women. Only one award is given each year, so the field is small but so is the prize pool, and the amount is not published. You are eligible if you will be attending university, not only if you already are, so a grade 12 student heading to first year can apply. You must be a Canadian citizen, enrolled full time at a minimum of three courses a semester, and identify as both a woman and Métis. Essays are checked for plagiarism. Submissions go by email.
