🤝 Michael A. Strembitsky Award of Excellence

Edmonton Public Schools names three Grade 12 students a year who model inclusivity, leadership and compassion, awarding gold ($2,000), silver ($1,500) and bronze ($1,000) medallions. Nominees submit a principal endorsement, a 500-word letter and a resume, then sit a virtual interview that carries 20 of the 35 selection points.

You cannot apply for this one yourself: high school principals nominate, and each Division high school puts forward its own candidates. Twenty students were nominated in 2026. The date shown is last cycle's, rolled forward.
