Worth knowing

Eligibility follows the rural internet provider's coverage map rather than any municipal boundary, so check the service area before assuming Cold Lake addresses qualify. Up to four awards go to graduating Grade 12 students going into computer science or another STEM field. Marks count for 60% and community involvement for 40%. Send a transcript, a principal or counsellor reference, your acceptance letter and an 800 to 1,000-word essay to marketing@mcsnet.ca between April 1 and August 31.

About this scholarship

Four awards of $1,000 from MCSNet, the rural Alberta internet provider, for graduating students in its service area who are pursuing computer science or STEM-related studies. An August 31 close makes it one of the last deadlines of the year, which suits a student who decided on a STEM program late.

Email me when it opens

We send one link to confirm, then an email when it opens and reminders before the deadline if one is posted.
We store your address only to send these reminders, and delete it the moment you unsubscribe.
What we keep

Nothing else is sent until you press the button in the confirmation email. If you never do, the address is deleted within 30 days. Otherwise it goes 60 days after the deadline or the moment you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. We never sell or trade it. The full privacy policy.
