Leanne Wright Memorial Bursary

A $1,000 bursary from the Kinette Club of Wetaskiwin, created in memory of a club member who died in 2004 and whose last motion was to stop sending the club's money to the national Kin Canada fund and keep it for a Wetaskiwin student instead. It rewards high ideals and qualities of citizenship.

Applications go to the Kinette Club directly, not through the school, and the club asks for a transcript on school letterhead plus proof of Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status. It also asks you to write about your own experience of the local Kinette Club, and it says outright not to send resumes, clippings or reference letters. The 2026 deadline was June 1, so look for the next form in the spring.
