Worth knowing

This works by nomination. A classmate, teacher, coach or staff member emails the foundation along with a reference letter from a coach or school staff member. You need an acceptance to a post-secondary program. The 2026 round closed May 16, 2026 and no 2027 date is posted yet, so ask your coach about it in the spring.

About this scholarship

The Kalix Legacy Foundation gives one $500 scholarship to a Grade 12 athlete at each of Airdrie's three public high schools, in memory of Kalix Langenau. It looks for sportsmanship, teamwork and strong character.
