Don Moore Scholarship

A $1,500 nominated award from the Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel for students in recognized recreation services operation programs.

You do not apply for this one, someone nominates you, and the nomination form takes about twenty minutes. That is worth knowing early because it means telling an instructor or a supervisor at the arena or pool you work at that the award exists. Any year of study counts, including your first, and you do not need to be an AARFP member. Note that several aggregator sites still list this at $750, which is the old value. The association's own awards page says $1,500, and the same page carries the February 15 nomination deadline that applies to every award they hand out.
