Diabetes Hope Foundation Scholarship
A minimum of 35 scholarships of $3,000 across Canada for students in their final year of high school who live with type 1 diabetes and are heading to post-secondary study.
One of the few national awards written specifically for graduating high school students rather than adapted to fit them. You must be in your final year at a Canadian secondary school or CEGEP, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, hold a valid SIN, and have been under the care of a Canadian pediatric diabetes team or physician for type 1 diabetes for at least a year before applying. Judged on both merit and need, weighing how you balance diabetes management against school, community involvement and your own health. The Foundation aims for a minimum of 35 awards a year, funding permitting. The 2026 round opened January 5 and closed March 2, so this sits early in the Grade 12 calendar. Applications run only through the portal at dhfscholarship.smapply.io. Note that the Foundation's own 2026 guidelines PDF still says 'fall of 2025' in one line; that is their typo, not a different cycle.
